To the staff at Diyanillakelle Estate, the plantation is more than just a Tea Plantation and a lot more than an employer.  The community at the estate comprises with over 130 families, whose sole income and survival is based around the estate.

Diyanillakelle Estate features a Hindu Kovil and a Muslim Mosque for the communities to engage in religious obligations and takes care of younger members of the local community through education and nutrition clinics, paying special attention to infants in need.

The estate also features empowerment programmes to help workers achieve work and life goals and encourages them to upgrade their skills and knowledge.
