Our Local In-House Chef
Food preparation in most bungalows is handled by a live-in chef, referred to locally as an Appu. Daniel continues this long tradition in style, along with his team, in preparing a wide selection of local, international, and fusion-inspired dishes.
For breakfast, served in-room or outside, you’ll get to savour a spread of local cuisine along with a cup of tea brewed using Diyanillakelle Estate’s best tea leaves. Lunch features an array of the island’s most-loved dishes, followed by a local dessert or some fresh fruit.
Our master local chef, Daniel, is well-versed in the art of both Sri Lankan and continental cuisine. From the region itself, he knows the flavours and recipes better than anyone else. Along with his expert team of cooks, Daniel ensures that everything in Diyanillakelle Estate Bungalow’s food and beverage menu is handled and catered to perfection. The use of Nuwara Eliya’s abundance of fresh vegetables is a feature of almost every meal.
