The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club was founded in 1889 and is amongst the oldest clubs for golf in Asia. After the Ryder Cup, the second oldest golf tournament is contested at Nuwara Eliya Golf Course every year.

The Nuwara Eliya Golf Club is instilled with an unparalleled tradition and ambiance. The Club is situated right at the starting of Mount Pidurutalagala and has some of the finest tea gardens of Sri Lanka in the surroundings.

The Club currently has over 2,000 members. It welcomes golfers of all ages and abilities. It’s worth taking the time to explore the club to see the names of the old club members up on the wall in the wood-lined and well-stocked bar. Equipment is available to rent in the club shop and the staff will help you get kitted out.

The Golf Club is located at an altitude of 6,000 ft. above sea level and the course is spread across land measuring up to approximately 100 acres, which was initially built within the tea plantations belonging to this central highland area.
